A team 13 educators from Ladakh including representing Lamdon Model Senior Secondary School, DIET-Leh, CIBS, Government School, Kargil and representative of Flowering Dharma were part of Four Day SEE Learning Facilitator Workshop from 21st– 24thJan, 2020 in Mundgod along with educators from Goa University and Goa Institute of Management which was jointly organized by Emory University, USA and Drepung Loseling Meditation and Science Center. The
SEE Learning is a compassion and Ethics based curriculum developed by the Center for Contemplative Science and Compassion Based Ethics, Emory University, USA. The curriculum was launched globally in Delhi on April 2019 in the presence of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Shri. Kailash Satyarthi, Nobel Laureate, and Shri. Manish Shisodia, Deputy CM Delhi. SEE Learning is currently being adopted in more than 20 countries across the globe.
The SEE Learning Curriculum in Ladakh was officially launched by Flowering Dharma and Lamdon Model Senior Secondary School on September 2019 by Ven. Geshe Lhakdor, Director, Library of Tibetan Works and Archives, Dharmashala. The Ladakh Launch was also attended by Shri. Gyal P Wangyal, Hon’ble CEC, LAHDC-Leh, Shri Konchok Stanzin, EC, Education, LAHDC-Leh and Smt. Konchok Angmo, Principal, DIET-Leh.
SEE Learning curriculum has been adopted at the Lamdon School and CIBS currently in Leh. During the launch the LAHDC also announced to adopt and implement the curriculum to 350 plus government schools in the Leh district. The four day facilitator training is the first step towards training the master trainers of the DIET who upon the receiving the facilitator certification will train the teachers of government schools for successful implementation of SEE Learning in the district.
Flowering Dharma is facilitating the implementation of SEE Learning Curriculum to the Indian Himalayan States and plans to organize similar launch in other states in upcoming months.
