Leh, January 17, 2020: The Executive Councillor for Education Konchok Stanzin officially flagged off four faculty members of DIET Leh headed by Principal DIET Leh Konchok Angmo from Council Secretariat today morning for “Facilitator Training of SEEL” going to be held at Emory University at Karnataka starting from 21st January 2020. The Flowering Dharma and Emory University is supporting the programme by providing boarding and lodging to the trainees.
Social Emotional Ethical Learning (SEEL) programme is developed under the guidance of H.H the 14th Dalai Lama for Contemplative Sciences and Compassion-based ethics.
EC Konchok speaking on the occasion thanked Director Flowering Dharma Tashi Namgyal for organizing this important workshop for teachers of Ladakh and stressed on proper and systematic implementation of SEEL training to all the govt. teachers of Leh district gradually in coming months. He said that initially four govt. Schools of Leh will be taken as pilot project for SEEL programme and later it will be extended in all the govt. Schools.
Principal DIET Leh Konchok Angmo Director Flowering Dharma Tashi Namgyal also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the importance of such training designed under the guidance of H.H the 14th Dalai Lama aiming to infuse compassion-based ethics in teachers, students and modern societies worldwide.
