Students from the Flowering Dharma Delhi Chapter also joined the sacred event organised by Tibet House at the National Museum to mark Tibetan Losar along with other participants. keeping with the Tibetan tradition of beginning Losar with reverence and pure intention, students joined the gathering to offer ‘Chak’ the traditional Tibetan Losar greeting and to convey their heartfelt wishes to Ven. Geshe Dorjee Damdul la . They also offered prayers for his long life, good health and expressed deep gratitude for his continued teachings andcompassionate guidance.
The main highlight was taking of the Aspirational Bodhisattva Vows, led by Venerable Geshe la which unfolded in a sacred atmosphere, with more than 150 participants setting clear intentions and beginning Losar through mindfulness.
We respectfully offered a traditional thangka of Arya Amitayush , symbolising (Buddha of long life)
The sacred Buddha relics preserved at the National Museum stand as timeless reminders of the Buddha’s enlightened life and teachings.
The ceremony concluded with prayers dedicated to universal peace and happiness, followed by a cake-cutting session symbolising unity and meaningful beginning.
After the main event, few of us also took the opportunity to visit the nearby sacred Buddha relics exhibition that is currently open in New Delhi. The International Exposition of the Sacred Piprahwa Relics, titled “The Light & the Lotus: Relics of the Awakened One,”
Visiting the exhibition at the museum was an inspiring experience for all of us. We got the chance to observe these ancient sacred relics up close, learn about their history and significance, and reflect on the deep cultural and spiritual heritage they represent.

The ten-day study retreat on the Heart Sutra, held

The ten-day study retreat on the Heart Sutra, held from 27 January to 5 February 2026 at the sacred land of Bodhgaya, concluded with great success and profound spiritual impact on all participants. Organised by Tibet House, the Cultural Centre of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, in collaboration with Root Institute for Wisdom Culture, the retreat provided a rare and precious opportunity for students, particularly those supported through the scholarship initiative of Flowering Dharma, to immerse themselves in the profound Indian Philosophy. Bodhgaya, being the very place where Lord Buddha attained enlightenment under the Bodhi Tree over 2,500 years ago, created an exceptionally powerful and inspiring environment for study, contemplation, and inner transformation.
The presence of the Nalanda Ladakhi Translation Team made it possible for our students to receive the teachings in Ladakhi through live simultaneous translation, allowing them to engage deeply with Bodhicitta, renunciation, and the wisdom of emptiness in their own language. This marked a historic step for Ladakhi youth in connecting the Bhoti language with the living Nalanda tradition.
The retreat was based on Arya Nagarjuna’s Mulamadhyamakakarika, clearly revealing how self-grasping ignorance gives rise to karma and afflictions, and how the realization of emptiness leads to liberation. The generation of Bodhicitta was taught through the Sevenfold Cause-and-Effect Method and Equalizing and Exchanging Self with Others, giving students both philosophical clarity and practical methods.
From the Flowering Dharma perspective, this retreat was not just a retreat but a meaningful step in nurturing a new generation of youth grounded in Bodhicitta and the wisdom of emptiness, so this precious Nalanda tradition continues for the benefit of all sentient beings.

Day 4 of our 10-Day Study Retreat on the Heart Sutra (27 Jan – 5 Feb 2026) at the sacred land of Bodh Gaya and what a wholesome and meaningful journey this has been so far specially for the students 🙏
This retreat is not just about learning Buddhist philosophy; it is gently reshaping our lives. Through the discourse and the Wisdom of Emptiness, many of us are learning how to meet stress, anxiety and emotional turbulence with clarity, compassion and inner balance. Each session brings a deeper understanding of ourselves and how to live with more awareness and kindness in a fast-moving world.
Ven. Geshe Dorji Damdul’s discourses are not just teachings from texts, but living wisdom that shows us how to walk the path of life.
As this retreat continues, the students are experiencing a truly meaningful and transformative journey one that will stay with us far beyond these ten days.

We the Flowering Dharma members from Trans Himalayan region are continuously dedicating this year to ‘YEAR OF COMPASSION’ Rooted in Philosophy, this New Year outreach embodies the spirit of mettā and karuṇā, reminding us that true celebration lies in easing suffering and nurturing human connection.

We began the New Year with compassion and service through a heartfelt outreach programme at Earth Saviour Foundation
spent meaningful time engaging in conversations, listening to life stories, and sharing moments of warmth and connection.
As many students and contributors were involved, individual acknowledgements were not possible. However, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to each and every person who contributed in any form.
