Celebrating 1000 years of Ladakh’s lost treasure, Nyarma Universirty – Ladakh

International Institute for Culture and Ethics (an institution under Flowering Dharma Trust), Ladakh Academy for Arts, Culture and Languages and Thiksey Monastery jointly organising an event to mark the 1000 years anniversary of the Nyarma Institute (Thiksey). Nyarma was institutional complex that was founded around the year 1000 by Lotsava Rinchen Zangpo, the great translator. It served as the region’s main centre of studies around the first millennium, however over time it has suffered due to invasions and exposure to the elements. The main purpose of this event to celebrate and revive the glory and legacy of this Antient Indian Wisdom Tradition.
