From December 13th to 15th, 2024, the International Institute for Culture & Ethics (IICE) under Flowering Dharma, in collaboration with Snow Leopard Conservancy India Trust, Ladakh, hosted a transformative three-day SEE Learning Educator Preparation Workshop in Leh.
This workshop brought together 36 dedicated participants from across the breathtaking regions of Ladakh, including Leh, Nubra, Changthang, Zanskar, and Kargil.
SEE Learning (Social, Emotional, and Ethical Learning), developed by Emory University, equips educators to nurture compassion, resilience, and ethical leadership in young minds. This workshop focused on empowering educators to integrate these principles into their teaching, fostering holistic development for the next generation.
The participants, driven by a shared passion for education and community service, will now extend these learnings to students in remote villages of Ladakh during the upcoming winter tuitions. By reaching the hearts and minds of children in these isolated areas, they aim to instill values of kindness, mindfulness, and ethical responsibility—essential for personal and community well-being.
This collaboration highlights the profound connection between preserving Ladakh’s natural and cultural heritage and nurturing inner development in its people. The joint efforts of IICE and Snow Leopard Conservancy emphasize that education is not just about academic growth but also about cultivating harmonious relationships with oneself, others, and the environment.
Together, we step closer to realizing a future where compassion and wisdom shape every corner of society.
