Ven Geshe Dorji Damdul is presently Director at Tibet House, New Delhi, Cultural Centre of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. In 1988, Geshe Dorji Damdul joined the Institute of Buddhist Dialectics, Dharamsala for formal studies in Buddhist logic, philosophy and epistemology. After 15 years of study in Buddhist philosophy he finished his Geshe Lharampa Degree (Ph.D.) in 2002 from Drepung Loseling Monastic University. He joined Gyudmed Tantric College for a year for Tantric studies.
He is appointed as the official translator to H.H. the Dalai Lama since 2005. He has been serving as the interpreter for H.H. the Dalai Lama for so many years and at the same time involved in doing written translations of many texts from Tibetan into English such as Arya Nagarjuna’s “Mulamadyamikakarika” (Fundamental Wisdom of the Middle Way), Acharya Shantideva’s “Bodhicaryavatara” (Wisdom Chapter).
He was appointed as the Director of Tibet House, Cultural Center of H.H. the Dalai Lama, New Delhi in March 2011.
While assigned with the responsibility of the Directorship of Tibet House, the Cultural Centre of H.H. the Dalai Lama, New Delhi, India, he also gives regular lectures in Tibet House and many other places like Universities and Institutes. He also travels widely within India and abroad, like Mumbai, USA, U.K., and Singapore to teach Buddhist philosophy, psychology, logic, and practice.

5th Oct | All participants are expected to arrive at Deerpark, Himachal Pradesh, on the morning of the 5th. It is recommended that students take an evening bus from Delhi, Chandigarh, or Jammu on the 4th to ensure they reach the retreat location by early morning on the 5th. Please plan your travel accordingly to arrive on time. | Upon arrival, students will be allocated rooms. Each room, equipped with an attached bathroom, will accommodate a maximum of three students. After settling in and freshening up, students will have the opportunity to visit the local market and explore nearby sites. 6th to 13th Oct | Please be informed that the strict residential retreat begins daily at 6:00 AM with morning meditation, followed by breakfast and the first session of the day.

13th Oct | By around 3:00 pm the retreat will officially conclude . | In the evening, students can try paragliding or depart for Dharamsala. Both activities are optional, and students may choose according to their preferences. Typically, most students opt to visit Dharamsala, while a few prefer to return. 14th Oct | Dharmsala (One Night) | During the optional visit to Dharamsala, students can explore several significant and scenic locations, including His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s temple, the local market, and nearby attractions such as the Bhagsu waterfall. After completing your visit, you may take an evening bus back to Delhi, Chandigarh, Jammu, or your respective destinations. Note : Please note that a registration fee of Rs. 1000 is applicable after you qualify for the scholarship. The scholarship includes food, accommodation, and access to all facilities. The classes are provided free of cost by Tibet House, Delhi, while Deerpark Institute facilitates the event in which scholarship for meals during the entire 9-day event is provided by Flowering Dharma. 25% concession on accommodation is provided by Deerpark Institute, with the remaining 75% covered by Flowering Dharma. Please be aware that travel expenses are not included in the scholarship. The registration fee collected from the students will be used for books and materials, as well as a collective gift to Guru Ven. Geshe Damdul la, in gratitude for his selfless teachings and wisdom. Also note that scholarship does not cover the tour to Dharamsala and other personal expenses like paragliding and adventures, these activities are optional. |
