Two day event National Seminar cum Festival was organised yesterday and today at Abhinav Theatre called Confluence 2. This event was jointly organised by J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages and Flowering Dharma, International Youth Organisation today at Abhinav Theatre, Jammu after the successful 2 Day Event in Delhi on 4th and 5th Feb 2019. “Confluence is the celebration of Art, Culture, Ideas and Wisdom which was initiated by Flowering Dharma in the Year 2016 in association with different student Unions from North East India and North India in Delhi and Jammu’ The event was supported by Ministry of Culture, Govt of India, Tibet House which is the Cultural Centre of H.H. Dalai Lama in Delhi, different youth organisations, representing Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir to work on together to spread the message of love and compassion through the idea of Universal Ethics. This 2 Day event was highly welcomed and supported by different Dynamic Student Unions based in Jammu & Delhi like LSWSD (Ladakh Student Welfare Society Delhi) , ALSAJ (All Ladakh Student Association Delhi), SAOLJ (Student Association of Ladakh Jammu), ALSWAJ (All Ladakh Student Welfare Association Jammu) and other regional unions from Zanskar, Aryan, Paddar, Domkhar, Nubra, WMSF and Wanlha.
Ven. Geshe Dorji Damdul, Director, Tibet House Cultural Centre of H.H Dalai Lama and Proff. Z.Haq, Custodian of the relics of Prophet Muhammad, Jama Masjid, Delhi were the two keynote speaker who came on 11th Feb Jammu. Ven Geshe Dorji Damdul is the official translator to H.H. the Dalai Lama since 2005. He has been serving as the interpreter for H.H. the Dalai Lama for so many years. While assigned with the responsibility of the Directorship of Tibet House, the Cultural Centre of H.H. the Dalai Lama, New Delhi, India, he also gives regular lectures in Tibet House and many other places like Universities and Institutes. He also travels widely within India and abroad, like Mumbai, USA, U.K., and Singapore to teach Buddhist philosophy, psychology, logic and practice. He spoke on Universal Ethics and the Nature of Mind from a Psychological point of view. Proff. Z.Haqspoke on how youth are now more involved into mobiles and Digital Optical World and less into real live interactions. The second day of the event on 12th Feb was graced by Mr Sonam Wangchok, Ramon Magasasay Awardee 2018 at Abhinav Theater along with Shri. Aziz Hajini, Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages. Around 600 to 1000 Youth Participated in the event where Stalls and Exhibitions were also showcase to present respective Culture in the form of Paintings, Food, etc. The Cultural Performances from different part of Jammu Kashmir were also presented such as Rouf, Aryan dance, Zansker, Nishu Bhat and group.
Director of Flowering Dharma, Tashi Namgyal on the completion its 10th Year Anniversary of the organization also announced its Project towards fulfilling its cause an “International Institute of Ethics and Culture” www.iice.world .
The session was highly appreciated and enjoyed by the students which was evident from the smile on their face and the intense conversation.
