LG Ladakh reviews arrangements for holy exposition of sacred Buddha relics in UT Ladakh
Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Kavinder Gupta, chaired a high-level preparatory meeting at Raj Niwas to review arrangements for the upcoming holy exposition of the sacred Buddha relics in the Union Territory.

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Ashish Kundra and several revered Rinpoches, who discussed security, crowd management, logistics, and spiritual programmes for the historic event.
The Chief Secretary informed that the sacred relics are expected to arrive in Leh on April 28–29, with a grand ceremonial reception scheduled for May 1. The relics will be placed at Jivestal for public display for around 15 days, enabling devotees from across Ladakh to seek blessings. Necessary arrangements, including transportation and coordination among departments, will be ensured for maximum participation.

The Lt Governor termed the exposition a historic and spiritually significant occasion, inspired by his visit to view the sacred Piprahwa Buddha relics in New Delhi. He stressed time-bound planning, formation of sub-committees, and seamless coordination to manage logistics, security, medical facilities, and volunteers.

Emphasising peace and harmony, he called for mass prayers, mantra chanting, and an interfaith seminar to send a global message of unity from Ladakh. He also directed departments to disseminate information among tourists expected in May and urged citizens, youth groups, and religious institutions to extend full support in making the event a grand success.
