New Delhi: As part of the global initiative commemorating “90 Years of Compassion”—a celebration marking the 90th birth year of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama—Flowering Dharma hosted a compelling session with Geshe Dorje Damdul, Director of Tibet House, New Delhi, on the theme “Convergence and Divergence between Buddhist Philosophy and Modern Science – Series 3.” The event took place at the India International Centre, New Delhi, and drew an audience of over 400 attendees.

The programme opened with a musical tribute dedicated to His Holiness the Dalai Lama and brought together students from the trans-Himalayan region, including members of the Ladakh Students Welfare Society Delhi, Arunachal Buddhist Culture Society Delhi, Lahaul and Spiti Cultural Association Delhi, Delhi Kinnaur Students Association, Global Tibetan Students Association Delhi, and Sikkim Students Association Delhi.

This gathering offered a unique platform for young minds to engage with the intersection of ancient Buddhist wisdom and contemporary philosophical and scientific thought.
In his address, Geshe Dorje Damdul emphasised the importance of critical thinking, ethical living, and compassionate action—principles deeply rooted in Buddhist philosophy and consistently advocated by His Holiness the Dalai Lama as essential tools for navigating the complexities of the modern world.

In recognition of Geshe Dorje Damdul’s two decades of selfless service, mentorship, and spiritual guidance to Ladakhi and Himalayan students, Flowering Dharma presented him with a Special Award of Gratitude. The honour also acknowledged his sustained efforts to bridge traditional Buddhist teachings with modern intellectual discourse.

The event concluded with a heartfelt address by Lobsang Wangmu, Secretary of Flowering Dharma, who expressed sincere gratitude to Geshe Dorje Damdul for his ongoing guidance, and extended thanks to all participating students and student unions for their continued engagement over the past three years.
