September 28, 2024 I Venue: India International Centre, New Delhi The seminar “Buddhist Philosophy and Modern Science-II” was successfully conducted on Sep 28, 2024, at the India International Centre in New Delhi. This event was a continuation of the first seminar on Buddhist Philosophy and Science held in 2023, aiming to delve deeper into the intersection of these two significant fields.

The primary purpose of the seminar was to inspire and motivate participants through the exceptional insights of Ven. Geshe Dorji Damdul, Director, Tibet House a leading figure in the field of Buddhist philosophy. This aligns with the core objectives of the Flowering Dharma organization, which focuses on fostering knowledge and understanding of philosophical and scientific principles among the youth.

Objectives :
The main objectives of the seminar included:
• To impart knowledge about Philosophy and its relevance in modern scientific discourse, particularly for students.
• To motivate college students, including Tibetan and Indian students studying in Delhi, by providing them with insights that can keep them motivated and uplifted, especially when they are far from home.
• To emphasise the importance of exposure to philosophy and science alongside primary studies as crucial for personal development and mental growth.
• To support youth in building focus and concentration, equipping them with skills that will enable them to serve their community and nation ethically and with altruism in the future.
The seminar featured engaging discussions led by distinguished speaker. Attendees participated in interactive sessions that encouraged dialogue and exploration of concepts bridging the two domains.

Event Highlights :
The event attracted students from various regions, including Ladakh, Arunachal Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Tibet and Delhi, as well as several other parts of the country. The collaboration with youth organisations, including International Institute for Culture & Ethics (IICE), Ladakh Student Welfare Society Delhi (LWSWD), Global Tibetan Student Union (GTSU), Arunachal Buddhist Student Union (ABSU) , Sikkim Buddhist Student Union , Delhi Kinnaur Student Association (DKSA), Lhaual Spito Cultural Association (LCSA) , and SFT Delhi, resulted in a meaningful and engaging event that explored the intersections between Buddhist thought and modern scientific inquiry.


Ven. Geshe Dorji Damdul delivered insightful talks on how ancient wisdom can provide perspectives and solutions for the challenges of the modern world, especially in the fields of science and human development. Participants praised the seminar for its depth and relevance, calling it a transformative experience.
Conclusion :
The seminar was a resounding success, achieving its objectives of inspiring and educating participants. It fostered a spirit of inquiry and reflection among college students, reinforcing the importance of integrating philosophical and scientific perspectives in their academic and personal lives.
