The inaugural ceremony of the SEE Learning Lamdon Model School, Shey, held on September 9, 2023, marked a significant milestone in the educational landscape of Ladakh. The SEE Learning Model School is a pioneering initiative in Ladakh, emphasizing Social, Emotional, and Ethical Learning. It includes key components such as Attention and Awareness Training, Compassion for Self and Others, Trauma and Resilience-informed Care, Systems Thinking, and Ethical Discernment. This comprehensive framework and engaging curriculum are the outcomes of collaborative efforts among international curriculum writers, educators, and experts in various fields, including developmental psychology and neuroscience.
Distinguished attendees, including Chief Guest Shri. Tsering Angchok, Hon’ble Deputy Chairman of LADHC Leh, and notable guests like Principal, Druk Padma Karpo School, and teachers and students from St. Peter School, graced the occasion. Parents, stakeholders, and working committee members of Shey Lamdon Model School, along with students, added vibrancy to the event.
The event unfolded seamlessly with an inaugural ceremony, including the lighting of the Lamp by the Chief Guest and dignitaries, followed by the National Anthem performed by students. A warm welcome address by the Principal of Shay Lamdon School set the tone for the day, followed by a brief introduction of Shay Lamdon school by the President of the Shay Lamdon Committee.
Sh.
