International Institute for Culture and Ethics, launched journals in Bhoti language (Yige/Tibetan/Ladakhi), titled “Ladakh and Himalayas- An International Journal for Ladakh and Himalayan Studies” and “Buddhism and India” by Shri R.K. Mathur, Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Ladakh on 23rd Jan 2023 in Shah Auditorium, Civil Lines, New Delhi, during the Annual Losar celebration of Ladakh Students Welfare Society Delhi (LSWSD).
This journal is bi-annual and two volumes will be published in a year. It has a distinguished editorial board consisting of Professors and experts from Ladakh and other Himalayan states. The journal intends to cover the field of culture, ancient Indian philosophy and knowledge, art, material culture, language and other in Ladakh and beyond.
The first edition of the journal had the following seven papers-
- A detailed study on the “ bTses sTon” ( Birthday) by Jamyang Tundup ( Research Scholar, Central Institute for Higher Tibetan Studies, Sarnath)
- Critical Analysis on the literature of Lama Zhadpa Dorjay by Tsewang Gyaltsen (Research Scholar, Central University of Jharkhand)
- A paper on the creator and creation of the Bhoti Script by Thupten Rigzin, Research Scholar, Central Institute of Buddhist Studies, Leh.
- A paper exploring conferring Noble Prize in Literature, 2022 to His Holiness the Dalai Lama by Ana Jetul Lotus Chozang, Kirti Monastery
- A paper exploring purpose of SEE Learning by Ana Jetul Lotus Chozang, Kirti Monastery
- A paper comparing Indian and Tibetan poetry by Tenzin Wangdak, Research Scholar, Shanti Niketan, Kolkata
- A paper on colloquial Ladakhi dialect by Skalzang Wangmo, Dalai Lama Institute for Higher Education, Bengaluru.
This journal provides opportunities for scholars to publish their articles and papers on the subject and encourage students to pursue studies in the Bhoti language and will contribute immensely to the growth of the language in Academics.
