Month long certificate course “Panorama-3 i.e Panorama of Buddhist Philosophy, Psychology and Science” concluded today.
The third edition of Panorama Certificate course came to a successful completion on 31st January 2020. Panorama of Buddhist Philosophy, Psychology and Science is a month long certificate course organized annually Flowering Dharma in association with Tibet House, Cultural Center of HH the Dalai Lama, New Delhi with support from Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
The classes started on 3rd January, 2020 and saw enrolment of more than 90 participants including students and professionals from Ladakh, Delhi and other parts of country. The class the covered the basic topics of Buddhist Philosophy including overview of Comparative study of Buddhist Psychology and Philosophy with Quantum Physics and Neuroscience, Essence of Dependent Origination Mantra and Four Seals- Session, Arya Nagarjunaβs Emptiness/ The Conversion and Divergence between Arya Nagarjunaβs Emptiness and Quantum Vacuum in Quantum Mechanics, Bodhicitta and Meditation and Buddhist Psychology.
The class was led by Ven. Geshe Dorji Damdul, Director, Tibet House and a renowned scholar who has also served as the translator of HH the Dalai Lama since 2005 and has been involved in doing written translations of many texts from Tibetan into English such as Arya Nagarjunaβs βMulamadyamikakarikaβ (Fundamental Wisdom of the Middle Way), Acharya Shantidevaβs βBodhicaryavataraβ (Wisdom Chapter), Ms. Pooja Dabral, Assistant professor, Department of Buddhist and Tibetan Studies at Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, Gangtok, Sikkim and a student of Geshe Dorji Damdul and Shri Ankit Goel.
Geshe la and other instructors encouraged the students to participate in the class in the form of question and answer and group discussions. The classes focused on the practical aspect of learning the texts and how it could be applied to understand oneself and oneβs mind to shun miseries and achieve maximum happiness.
After the completion of the course the students were presented with a certificate. On the last day of the course the members of Flowering Dharma presented Geshe la with Khatak and a small souvenir on behalf of the entire team and the participants. Flowering Dharma also thanked the staffs of Tibet House for their co-operation in organizing the program, Ladakh Student Welfare Society Delhi for their support and the participants for their involvement.
