Bir Retreat at Deer Park Institute with Geshe Dorji Damdul on the Wisdom Chapter from the text the Guide to the Bodhisattva Way of Life
The annual Bir Retreat program at the Deer Park Institute with Geshe Dorji Damdul, Director, Tibet House, Cultural Center of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, New Delhi for 40 students was facilitated by Flowering Dharma. Students from Ladakh, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Himachal Pradesh and Delhi registered for the program. The seven day retreat covered the On the Wisdom Chapter from the text “A Guide to Bodhisattva’s Way of Life by Shantideva”. The participants learned in great depth about the precepts of Buddhist Philosophy and covered the topic on the of Wisdom of Emptiness.
The seven day retreat was intensive and the participants remained engaged from 6:00 am to 9:00 pm. On the last night the students had the opportunity to have an audience with Ven. Geshe Dorji Damdul la. The students opened up and gave their heartfelt feedback and Geshe la also shared his wise words of wisdom and commended the efforts of the individuals as well as that of the group. The students dedicated a musical number for Geshe la.
After the retreat in Bir the participants then proceeded to Tushita Meditation Center to join the Nalanda Retreat.
Every year Flowering Dharma gets the opportunity to take 30-40 students for an intensive study retreat with Venerable Geshe Dorji Damdul La, Director, Tibet House, on scholarship due to the kind help and support from Tibet House and Deer Park Institute. The entire team of Flowering Dharma expresses sincere gratitude to the entire members and staff of Tibet House and Deer Park Institute. The retreat has garnered a huge amount of interest amongst the students to study and learn Ancient Wisdom Tradition of India.
